ELVITEN is an H2020 European project composed of 21 partners from 9 European Countries with the ultimate aim to holistically tackle all issues impeding the wide market deployment of EL-Vs.

ELVITEN targets in the development of replicable usage schemes consisting of support services (such as brokering, booking, advertising, parking management, fleet monitoring), ICT tools for accommodating these services and policies, in order to boost the usage (ownership or sharing) by private and professional users of all categories of EL-Vs (bicycles, scooters, tricycles and quadricycles). One of its main missions is to widely demonstrate the potential market penetration of EL-Vs by organising 6 demonstrations in 6 European Cities (Genoa, Rome, Bari, Trikala, Berlin and Malaga) with different geographical, spatial, urban and traffic characteristics.

ELVITEN project focuses on three principal goals:

  1. First, it intends to make users more familiar and facilitate them to use EL-Vs instead of ICE vehicles for their private transport and for light urban deliveries.
  2. Second, it envisages to collect rich information sets made of real usage data, traces from dedicated ICT tools, and users’ opinions after real trips.
  3. Third, to generate detailed guidelines and business models for service providers, Planning Authorities and manufacturers in order to make EL-Vs more attractive and more integrated in the transport and electricity networks.

The ELVITEN usage schemes, services, ICT tools and policy guidelines are expected to increase travellers’ and deliverers’ preferences to use EL-Vs instead of ICE vehicles, thus it will promote “the use of smaller, lighter and more specialised road passenger vehicles” in accordance to the European Commission’s Roadmap to a Single European Transport Area.

SEAbility is engaged in the ICT Requirements analysis and assets inventory as well as in ICT platform tools and services integration by supporting both the ICT tools deployment and sustainable business model identification for Trikala city. SEAbility will also provide its services in demonstration actions on data collection and on engaging users.
