The successful completion of the innovative H2020 project SafePASS, coordinated by I-Sense Group was held through a hybrid Final Event on 12 December 2022 in Athens Greece. With more than 60 participants in total, the consortium partners presented the project’s outcomes after three years of research and hard work! The event was led and coordinated by Lazaros Karagiannidis from our team who was the day to day project manager of the project, coordinating the consortium activities! Beside Lazaros Karagiannidis, Giannis Karaseitanidis, the technical manager of I-Sense Group, Margarita Kostovasili, Angelos Stamou and Maria Tsirigoti participated in the event.
Mr Nikolaos Uzunoglou, Professor Emeritus, Division of Information Transmission Systems and Material Technology of National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) and Mr Nikolaos Ventikos Associate Professor Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering of National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), open the event and an overview of the project followed performed by Lazaros Karagiannidis. The first keynote speech was by Mrs Anna Karamigkou, Project Officer of CINEA-European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency and the first session entitled Novel Systems, where partners presented the Novel Life-saving Appliances, the Smart Devices and the Common Operational Picture, followed. Mr Ignatios Nikolaou, Marine safety investigator – Head of Department of Research, Applications and Statistical Analysis of the HBMCI, honoured us with his participation and performed the second keynote speech just before the second session, entitled Novel Approaches in which the Evacuation Modelling Tools, the Evacuation Friendly Designs and the Dynamic Risk Modelling were presented. The last session was dedicated to a round table discussion with experts from different fields and questions from the audience.
